This Privacy Policy explains how WaterGiraffe ("the app", "we", "us"), developed by Hiren Paghadal, collects, uses and protects your information when you use the WaterGiraffe – Water Tracker app for Android and the website watergiraffe.com.
1. Information we collect
- Profile information you provide, such as your name, body weight, activity level, wake and sleep times and daily hydration goal. We use it to personalise your goal and reminders.
- Hydration data: the drinks you log, their volume and time, streaks, milestones and challenge progress.
- Barcode scans: when you scan a packaged drink, the barcode is used to look up product information from Open Food Facts.
- Device and usage information, such as device model, OS version, crash logs and in-app activity, used to keep the app stable and improve it.
- Purchase information: if you buy Pro, payment is handled by Google Play. We never receive your card details.
2. How we use your information
- To provide core features: tracking, goals, reminders, statistics, milestones and challenges.
- To generate insights (including AI insights for Pro users) about your hydration habits.
- To show your progress to friends you choose to join in duo or squad challenges.
- To show ads, measure performance and fix bugs.
- To respond to your support requests.
3. Advertising
The free version of the app contains ads. Advertising partners may use device identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID) to show and measure ads. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your Android device settings.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the app (for example hosting, analytics, crash reporting, advertising and payment processing through Google Play), when required by law, or with your consent.
5. Data retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account and associated data at any time. See Delete your account for step-by-step instructions.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however.
7. Children
WaterGiraffe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. Health disclaimer
WaterGiraffe is a general wellness tool and does not provide medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional about your individual hydration needs.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
